This year Beatrice Gilmore School has become a Grade 3 and 4 elementary school dedicated to guiding our students along the path of becoming life long learners. Due to our recent district realignment plan all district Grade 3 and 4 students are housed at Beatrice Gilmore School allowing all staff members to concentrate their efforts on a specific subject area. Team teaching has been introduced and is providing most classes with two teachers. This approach will allow us to better meet the needs of each and every one of our students.
At Beatrice Gilmore School you will find an inviting student centered environment created by a highly skilled and experienced staff. Two new staff members have joined us this year. Mrs. Christine Billi who has a Masters Degree in Special Education and will serve as an In Class Language Arts Support Teacher. Mr. William Krakower also holds a Masters Degree in Special Education and will serve as an In Class Math Support Teacher. We welcome them to our staff and look forward to having them become a part of our team.
The realignment plan and the introductions of team teaching will further support us in our goal of helping students thrive both academically and socially. State Core Content Standards are used in planning curriculum and staff development programs are provided throughout the year. We will continue to be a small school with a strong sense of cohesiveness and collaboration. Beatrice Gilmore School fosters a positive, supportive and caring atmosphere where we aim to maximize each child’s unique potential.
Here at B.G., parents are important members of our team. Parent involvement is encouraged and welcomed. Our Home and School Association consists of a dedicated group of parents who work tirelessly to enrich our students’ learning experience. They provide additional programs and activities that aid in discovery and learning.
All members of the B.G. Team, students, teachers and parents, are excited by the opportunities that lie before us. We look forward to working together to achieve our goals and exceed our expectations.
