BOE Salutes Five Retirees
The Board of Education recognized five long-time District teachers on their upcoming retirement at the end of the school year. We send our gratitude to each for their dedication and service to our students and wish them the very best in the next chapter of their lives. Congratulations to: JoAnn Woessner – 18 years, Rosemary Ficarra – 21 years, Lynn Donato – 25 years, Karen Criscione – 25 years, and Lauren Wittig – 29 years.

The Board of Education saluted the 2024-2025 Governor’s Educators of the Year and Service Professionals of the Year winners. This is a very special honor for our teachers. They are awarded this honor by their colleagues, community members and families.
CO Raises Over $4,500 for Kids Heart Challenge
Charles Olbon School wrapped up its annual American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge efforts with a special event the day before spring break. The school fundraising goal of $4,500 was exceeded with a total of $4,578 was raised. As the school met its goal, gym teacher Mr. Volpe was slimed by the top three fundraisers, Ciella, Ava, and Jake.

The Footprints For Life program once again returned to Charles Olbon School. The program, funded by the Woodland Park Municipal Alliance for Alcoholism & Drug Abuse and presented by the Center for Prevention & Counseling, is given over six sessions to all second grade students. Facilitators Christina Dewaelsche and Ashlyn Gec use stories and puppets to provide lessons on such topics as sharing feelings using "I"-messages, problem-solving, decision-making, peer pressure, alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, and celebrating our differences.
