Memorial Middle School has launched Mustang Academy, an after-school program that provides students the opportunity to not only have fun, but to engage in various activities that will challenge both the mind and the body.
Coordinated by Mr. Segarra, Mustang Academy is being run by staff “coaches” who will run “clinic” style programs that will last 4 to 6 weeks. At that time, clinic choices will change. Clinics take place after school for an hour on multiple days of the week. Depending on the interest, the Academy will be replacing/updating the available programs on a rotating schedule.
The first round of clinics include music enrichment, art enrichment, Chess Club, TREP$, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Mr. Segarra said that future sessions would include different programs and that students are being surveyed about possible future clinic ideas.
