• Dear Preschool Families,

I am honored to be the Woodland Park School District's Director of Early Childhood Education. I feel very fortunate to be part of this community and to support the students and families. I would like to welcome our puppies back to another great year of growing and learning.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 15 years. Prior to becoming the director here, I was a preschool teacher for the Paterson Public Schools. Thereafter, I moved into special education and served this population of students in Paterson Public Schools, Pequannock Public Schools, and Glen Rock Public Schools. My leadership experiences include Senior Manager for special education teachers, Supervisor in the Department of Early Childhood Education, and Vice Principal for Newark Public Schools. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education at Montclair State University, a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Felician College, and a Principal Certificate at William Paterson University. I am thrilled to utilize my skills as an educational leader and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

The early years are critical for establishing a strong foundation for learning and acquiring social skills needed for healthy development and future school success. Our preschool program provides our youngest learners with a high-quality preschool education. We understand that every child develops differently. Our preschool program provides children with strategies that help them develop the emotional, social and cognitive skills needed to become lifelong learners.

During the school year, be sure to check our website for news and announcements. Also be certain to check your email regularly. Take some time to navigate through the school and district sites; you can find information here regarding policies, general procedures, and connections to various resources.

    Sincerely,
    Mireya Gutierrez
