Dear Preschool Parents and Guardians,
It is with great honor and excitement I greet you as Woodland Park School District's Director of Early Childhood Education and School 1 Principal. I am a lifelong learner and passionate educator dedicated to students’ well being and academic excellence. I LOVE learning and growing, and it is my hope to inspire our educational community to grow and love learning together too!
Before becoming director, I proudly served the Woodland Park School District as the Language Arts Supervisor. Prior to that, I worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, reading specialist, supervisor and lower elementary principal. I am a proud alumni of Montclair State University (MSU) where I received my Bachelors degree in Early and Middle Childhood Education. After that I earned thirty credits from the College of Saint Rose, a Masters from Fairleigh Dickenson University in Reading, and a Masters from MSU in Administration. Thus far, my proudest accomplishment is being a mother to my children, Cole, Leo, and Lara. Together with my husband, I adore watching them laugh, learn, and grow.
The early years are critical for establishing a strong foundation for learning and acquiring social skills needed for healthy development and future school success. Our preschool program provides our youngest learners with a high quality preschool education. Our staff implements engaging studies that support inquiry based learning and development of social emotional skills. We understand that every child develops differently, so learning opportunities address the individual needs of children. Our program supports the development of the whole child.
Throughout the school year, be sure to check out our website for School 1 news and announcements. Also be certain to check your email regularly and read any mail that is sent home. Should you ever have any questions, kindly call the main office for assistance at (973) 317-7770. Take some time to navigate through the school and district sites; you can find information here regarding policies, general procedures, and connections to various resources.
As Director of Early Childhood Education and School 1 Principal, I look forward to helping each child develop to his or her fullest potential. Communication and collaboration can bring this goal to fruition. I welcome you to connect with me about your children. Together, we will make great strides for our preschool puppies!
Educationally yours, Elba Alves Castrovinci
