Dear Charles Olbon Families,
-
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am excited for my second year at Charles Olbon School as the building principal. This is my eighteenth year working in the Woodland Park School District. I have served the school district in a variety of capacities: physical education teacher at Charles Olbon School, Memorial School Assistant Principal and Memorial School Principal. I am thankful for all the relationships I have built over that time with administration, staff, parents, community members and, most of all, the students.
- I graduated from West Virginia University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education. During my undergraduate studies, I was a member of the Men’s Ice Hockey Team. In 2011, I earned a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from William Paterson University.

In addition to teaching, coaching is a passion of mine. I have coached ice hockey at the collegiate, high school, and middle school levels. During these coaching experiences, I collaborated with staff to ensure that our team members were equipped with the necessary skills to work together. Teamwork, strategies, dedication, goal-setting, and discipline were the focus of our programs. It is my intention to create an environment in which these core values are part of the daily routines for the staff and students at Charles Olbon School.
-
I look forward to using my leadership abilities to help guide our students and staff to reach new levels of success.
Stephen Scholtz
Principal
