Recently a Committee was created in Woodland Park called WPSNAC; it consists of parents of children with and without special needs in our community. Our mission is to provide direct input on the policies, programs and practices that impact services and support for children with disabilities and their families. We would like to increase the involvement of families on policies pertaining to our special needs children. Above all we would like to create a bridge between families and the school district.
Our goals:
Our goals are to build awareness in the community regarding children’s disabilities, encourage community involvement in events for our children and their families, provide educational speakers for families, advocate for special needs children and their families and continue to have a good working relationship with the school administration to continue moving forward.
