IMPORTANT MESSAGES!!!!!!!!Every week your child will learn a SIGHT WORD(s). We will makeFLASHCARDS for these words. You will find the flashcards in anENVELOPE. Your child must STUDY these words DAILY (everyday). Keep ALL FLASHCARDS in the ENVELOPE. Keep the envelope containing the words in the YELLOW FOLDER until your child receives aReading Bag later in the school year. RETURN DAILY to school.A LEVELED READING BOOK(S) will be sent homeWEEKLY. It will be located in a Plastic Ziploc Baggie labeled with your child’s name. Practice READING with your child DAILY. READING IS IMPORTANT!!!! Refer to the “Strategies” Notice, located in the plastic bag, to use the same techniques at home as used in the classroom.RETURN DAILY in the same GUIDED READING BAG ("Learning" Bag) and PLASTIC ZIPLOC BAG ("Fun" Bag). Be sure that ALL CONTENTS are placed back in these bags.
A list of RHYME FAMILIES in a folder was sent home in June of 2018, during your child's kindergarten year. Continue to practice "TAPPING," reading, and spelling these words. Practice READING with your child DAILY..
READING IS IMPORTANT!!!!PLEASE BE SURE TO FOLLOW ANY AND ALL CLASSROOM PROCEDURES. If the above procedures ARE FOLLOWED, your child WILL BE PREPARED for school. This helps develop POSITIVE ESTEEM AND / OR CONFIDENCE. PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR CHILD’S EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS.
