Dear Students and Parent/Guardians:
Welcome to Beatrice Gilmore for the 2017-2018 school year. My name is Ms. Brunini and I am your child’s ELA/Math resource teacher. I am very excited about the school year and have many interesting and educational activities planned for the children. My goal is to get them interested in and excited about learning. It is my belief that positive interaction between teacher and parent strengthens the support all children need for success in school. My goal is to create an atmosphere of open communication regarding your child’s progress and behavior in both home and school.
Throughout the year if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to e-mail me at mbrunini@wpschools.org
Looking forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Brunini
Classroom Expectations
Note from the Teacher: As a teacher, In order to create a positive learning environment for your child, there are specific expectations for all students. I have established a few simple rules. As a student, it is your responsibility to learn and abide by the classroom rules. By complying to the below rules, I promise you a more organized and effective learning experience.
- Respect yourself, peers, teacher and all belongings in the classroom.
- Keep your hands to yourself.
- Stay in your seat unless we are doing an activity that requires movement across the classroom.
- Always pay attention and raise your hand when you have a question.
- Enter and exit the classroom quietly and calmly.
- ALWAYS TRY YOUR BEST
- Homework:
- Homework is to help learn responsibility, as well as the opportunity to practice skills learned in class.
- All homework assignments will be posted on the faculty page.
- There will be homework on a regular basis.
- Homework will always be listed in the same place on the whiteboard and each student must try to copy it into their agenda.
- Agenda book must be signed every night by a parent/guardian.
- You can find the homework on the website by doing the following:

- Behavior:
There is a behavior chart in class. Each student has a clothes pin with their name on. Each student can move up or down according to their behavior for the day. The behavior chart shows good or bad behavior. When a child falls to the bottom of the chart where, it’s indicated parent contact. A letter will go home that will require your signature and to be return back to school the following day, as well as a phone call home.
To encourage students, I will recognize appropriate behavior with individual, group, and class rewards. Individual students will be praised for their good behavior and will be rewarded.
I am looking forward to an exciting and rewarding school year. I am very excited to be teaching your child but the ultimate goal is that every child does their best and to grow as learners.
