Woodland Park Public Schools Mathematics Page
Woodland Park’s philosophy in Mathematics consists of providing centered based material, differentiated instruction, modeling, and targeting conceptual math concepts aligned to the New Jersey State Learning Standards (NJSLS) for all students in grades K-8. Students will learn to address a range of tasks focusing on the application of concepts, skills, and conceptual understandings. Students will be asked to solve problems involving the key knowledge and skills for their grade level as identified by the NJSLS; express mathematical reasoning and construct a mathematical argument and apply concepts to solve model real world problems. The balanced mathematics instructional model will be used as the basis for all mathematics instruction.
