August 12, 2019
Dear Woodland Park Families,
My name is Susan Confrancisco and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Director of Special Services in the Woodland Park School district. I am honored to have been selected to join the District, which is known for its dedication to providing an inclusive educational experience to all children.
I am energized and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. My goal is to ensure that each child receives a quality education to navigate his/her journey toward college and career readiness. I am looking forward to years of learning and growth in the Woodland Park school district.
Over the past 15 years, I have worked in several capacities within public education, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. As a parent myself, I will celebrate all successes, big and small, and encourage our students to follow their passions and be the best they can be.
Before joining Woodland Park, I served as the founding Director of Special Services at the Marion P Thomas Charter School, Newark; Supervisor of Special Education in Hasbrouck Heights; and served as the school psychologist in Oradell for ten years. I earned my undergraduate degree at Montclair State College; a Master’s degree from Western Michigan University; and post-graduate certificates in School Psychology and Educational Leadership at Montclair State University.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bob, and visiting with our three adult daughters. I enjoy reading and staying current with best practices in special education and consider myself a life-long learner.
Once again, I am thankful to have the opportunity to bring my experience to your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. I will be working with the administration and child study team to ensure for a smooth transition and opening in September. Should you need to contact me I can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 973-317-7761.
I look forward to a wonderful and productive year!
