    MATH - There is an example on the HW page of the WB on how to complete the HW in the WB. Your notes also have examples of how to complete the HW. 
     
    Please see me or go to Math Lab at lunch time if you have any questions. There is also HW helper after school.
     
     ***If a student is unsure of how to solve a problem, please look at your notes, read the lesson in the workbook, call a friend, ask a parent, use the on-line Math text book and other resources  listed on my website. Students assured me they would be resourceful in attempting to solve all problems. This is excellent preparation in learning how to evaluate Math problems on the PARCC Testing. ***

    I ENCOURAGE EVERY MATH STUDENT TO PRACTICE THESE QUESTIONS ON A DAILY BASIS.  
     
     
     
     
    On  Monday and Tuesday Sept. 11 & 12,  we had laptops in classroom and the students signed onto the Math Web site to access the book on-line. This is for your convenience in case they forget their workbook in school  Children wrote down  their user name and password in their planner, Math workbook, and Math notebook. Please keep this information in a safe place. I do not have access to it. If you lose it, you will have to create another account with the code number that goes with this grade level 5 workbook.
                 
     To access Science book on line  go to:    www.pearsonsuccessnet.com  or www. pearsonrealize.com.  User name: is first inital last name followed by 1 or 12 or 123, etc. This was assigned by the computer.  Password:   for every student it is first initial last initial followed by 123456.   Classes will be created to enable sign-on. If you have trouble viewing the book, disable pop--up blocker. Go to TOOLS, go to pop-up blocker - go to turn off pop-up blocker either temporarily or permanently.  WE ARE PROBLEM SOLVERS ! ! !

     SCIENCE- Current Event:   All students will meet this obligation in class.
      
     5th - Science; current event article. Once a month on the last FRIDAY of the month a "SCIENCE" related current event article will be completed in class. A full article will be read and a two paragraph report will be completed;  paragraph 1 (5 sentences) summary & paragraph 2 (5 sentences) opinion on the article!  There are forms in class that will be used for the article.Students may also do this at home if they choose.

       THE 2018 ACADEMIC EXPO (SCIENCE FAIR) IS COMING. ALL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE REVIEWED IN DETAIL FOR UPCOMING PROJECTS. ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE! TO BE HELD ON  April  19, 2018, 7-8 P.M. ALL STUDENTS MUST PARTICIPATE AND STUDENTS MUST ATTEND !
